Welcome to my online portfolio.

I studied Fine Art in France during the middle 1950's.  Also,in Belgium under Michael Dore during the middle 1960's.  In the 1970's I progressed into Commercial Art, doing special effects and logo designs.

As an  "Illustrator" in the United States Air Force from March 1952 through March 1972.  I retired in March 1972 as a Korean and Vietnam Veteran.

In April 1972 I opened "Innovation Art and Design" an art studio in San Antonio, Texas.

In 1974 I moved to Pensacola, Florida and became the Art Director for the "Visitor" magazines at Pensacola Engraving.

These prints came to be as a result of my sister asking me in 1976, to paint this picture for her husband (Cecil Rae), whose family is very prominent in the area.

The popularity of the place and the fact that Slagle's Lake Dam burned down in the late 80's led me to decide for the first time in my life, to make "Signed Limited Edition" Lithograph prints of this oil painting.

There is a strong heritage and historical significance to Slagle's Lake Dam.  The 500 acre lake is still used by anglers from all over the area.  I feel that everyone should be able to enjoy the beauty of Slagle's Lake Dam through these prints.

Located in Emporia, Virginia, Slagle's Lake Dam was completed in 1918.  Included with the dam was a grist mill to grind corn into meal for local residents and area grocery stores.  A large frame building with two "duck" pin bowling lanes and a dance floor overlooked the lake.  Just outside this building was a large concrete pool with a diving platform and a sandy bottom.  Shading this building and pool was a huge oak tree.  This area was a favorite "fun" place to cool off in summers without air conditioners.  This was a popular attraction in the 1920's - 30's.

These "catalogued 18" X 24" Lithograph prints" of this Oil Painting are available for $69.95 each plus shipping and handling.
